Over at PAD today, the prompt was to come up with a how to poem. What would you write a how to on? Something you excel in? Something you wish someone else did for you? Or a public service announcement for the good of all? So have you figured out what you like to share? Good, because I have not. I am waffling between too many options.

How To Live Forever

Living forever is the easy part;
How is where it gets a bit tricky.
You could spend years searching
For the Elixir of Youth or
Perhaps you’re alchemist- then it’s easy.
You could seduce a vampire
To turn you into one but
For some it would be a lifestyle change.
You could find yourself a werewolf or
Werebear, should size really matter,
Have it give you a love nibble – bloodier than hickies.
You could, I suppose, swap out one failing
Body part after the next if cyborgs are
Your thing – good luck with the TSA.
You could do what I do if you
Don’t mind being dead while
You live on – build everlasting memories.
Reach out to your soul mate and
Gaze into their eyes; each heartbeat
Fanning out rays of love everlasting.
Soften your gaze and let a smile
Slowly creep across your face;
Whisper sweet nothings forcing
You soul mate to lean in; feel
The electric charge building up
In the space between yourselves.
Inhale their scent and infuse your
Being with theirs; release the tension
From your jaw as your lips melds
With theirs and surrender to energy
That now courses freely through out;
Dissipating into the sweetest surrender
Of one heart to another – lengthen that
Moment and make it linger; soft eyes,
Fingers intertwined, blissful silence.
Remember the magic, temper the lust,
Practice making everlasting memories,
Each time as wondrous as the last.
